The Right Alice
The blue butterfly in the upper right corner to signify Alice’s transformation I darkened the center dark grey piece to give it more depth like a hole I added some three-dimensional ferns and more curly ferns to the forest I added more Tulgey to the Tulgey wood and I put a few beads on the seams in the center… And I gave the Hatter a hat pin. It’s a size 15 beading needle with two size 15 beads glued very carefully to the tip. I put on my small fingers for that task! And now it’s done. I put all the pictures in this Flickr album and I made a slide show…it’s kind of fun to see the block grow over time…kind of like time-lapsed photography. Have a great day everyone and thank you for coming on this adventure with me!

CATERPILLAR BRACELET
Hi, Lynne here. Alongside paper crafting I enjoy beading. I took a class with Heather Kingsley Heath ( http://Topearl/ct?haid=a2ca87b99379b454127414881703899ce87549bfc4898&co=a5444f39574c49adbba8c4c03a669c21-2903154017′ class=’AnswerTitle’>Have slippers… will craft!!
I also use Nylon thread combined with thread conditioner… I am not telling you guys this stuff to scare you away from beading… you can use a regular needle and thread… …but if you really get into beading you will want to get a few essentials! Most beads are glass and over time regular thread will get cut and fray on the edge of the bead! (that’s why you use special thread (it’s just more durable))! I drew a little swirl pattern… just using a pencil on some muslin. I came up from under the material and threaded 4 .

Crinkle Scarf Tutorial
4: Then twist the ends in opposite directions as tightly as they will go, and tie the ends in a loose knot. Hang to dry, or throw in the dryer. 5: Pull out the short, horizontal threads in your slits to fray, and then tie a knot at the top. Then you have a cute little crinkled scarf with frayed edges! You can either leave it plain, and fasten it with a pretty broach (I won this gorgeous one in a giveaway, but you can get the tutorial at Love 2 Create !) Or you can print this image: Trace it onto a non-fraying fabric, like knit, felt or nylon chiffon. (I used knit, which was a little difficult to cut out, but I liked the way the flexibility of the fabric made the butterfly wings “flutter”!) Then pin your butterflies on your scarf: And machine or hand-stich around the butterfly body. You can also add an “X” stitch to each wing to secure a little more. I threaded some sparkly seed beads on my needle for every other stitch because I was feeling fancy: All done!

How-To: Tassel Earrings
By Leah Peterson I’ve loved making jewelry since I was a teen. I’d try to copy anything someone else was wearing and, most times, I’d be able to figure it out. When I saw tassel earrings come down the red carpet worn by Kate Hudson at the Golden Globes earlier this year, I knew I had to have some. The fun thing is that once you figure out how to make them, you can change it up and make many different styles just by swapping out the findings. The fun is in the variety! Materials Beads String Findings and spacers Scissors Ruler Bead needle optional Directions Step 1: When looking for your seed-sized beads, either on strands or loose, keep in mind that it’s easier when the beads are on strands to begin with, as you won’t need to string them on strong nylon or silk thread. If you can’t find them already on strands, just go ahead and string the seed beads, using a very thin bead needle. Step 2: Measure as you go, making your strand about 2?”.

Pink Pearls And Other Projects
Alright, let’s see. I started the day the same way I had ended the last, cutting apart a pearl necklace. The pick pearls were a pain in the neck to dismantle since they were knotted between each pearl. The larger pearls were simply strung making that a breeze. For the pink pearls I opted to use black thread and went smaller, size 20. Even with the smaller thread, getting these loaded on the ball was like pulling teeth. I actually had to use a pair of pliers to hold the beading needle to pull them on. I’m sure a smaller beading needle would have helped, but that would have required buying a new on as I break them all the time and have none on hand. I went with a basic chain because I like the unpredictable curve giving the whole length an interesting undulation rather than the perfectly straight look that results from a Josephine knot chain. I thought about doing a tutorial for this technique, but like all things that goes on a long list.
